Rodent Services in Hoboken, NJ

Rats and mice are the only animals we deal with. That narrow focus lets us go deeper into how they move through a Hoboken building than a general pest company usually has time for.

One problem, several stages

Most rodent jobs in this city are not a single visit with a single fix. A mouse in a third-floor kitchen usually arrived through a gap two floors down, and a rat under a stoop is often living in a burrow that runs along the foundation. Solving it means finding the route, taking out the animals already inside, and closing the way in.

Rats and mice also call for different tactics. Rats are wary of new objects, live in larger burrows outdoors and come in at ground level. Mice are curious, nest inside the walls and can turn up on any floor. A plan that suits one is often wrong for the other.

Below is each piece of that work as a separate service. Some homes need one; plenty need four or five over a few weeks.

What we do

Pick the line that sounds closest to what you are dealing with. If none of them fit, call and describe it instead.

  • Rat Control

For buildings where heavy droppings, greasy rub marks or fresh holes in the yard soil point to rats. Work concentrates on the lowest levels of the building and the ground around it, because that is where this species lives and travels.

  • Mouse Control

For apartments and condos with small pointed droppings in drawers and quick scratching after dark. We follow mice through the hidden cavities shared between units, set traps along their routes and seal the openings on your side of the wall.

  • Rodent Inspection

The starting point for any job, or a stand-alone check before you buy, rent or renew a service contract. You receive a written list of entry points and a recommended plan you can share with a landlord or association board.

  • Trapping & Removal

Removal of the animals already inside. Small traps in numbers for mice, fewer and larger ones for rats, with repeat visits until a full check turns up nothing. Each catch is logged, bagged and taken out of the building on the same visit.

  • Exclusion & Sealing

Permanent repairs to the openings rodents use, done in stages so nothing is sealed in. Copper and stainless mesh for small gaps, fitted metal for larger ones, and masonry patching where old mortar has given way at the base of a foundation wall.

  • Attic Cleanup

The final step after an infestation, starting at the top of the house. Contaminated attic and cockloft insulation is wetted, bagged and replaced, cabinets and cellar floors are disinfected, and the scent trail is removed so it does not draw new arrivals back to the same spots.

  • Commercial Rodent Control

Ongoing programs for food businesses and multi-unit properties: a baseline inspection, mapped and numbered devices, visits on a fixed interval and a service record that can be shown to a health inspector, a landlord or the owner of the building.

How the pieces fit together

The order usually runs inspection first, then removal, then sealing, then cleanup. An inspection tells us whether we are looking at rats, mice or both, and where they are getting in. Trapping brings the numbers down. Exclusion work stops the next wave. Cleanup deals with droppings, nesting and odor once the activity has stopped.

Skipping a step tends to show. Sealing a wall before the mice inside it are gone traps them there; trapping without sealing turns into a subscription to the same problem.

Restaurants, bars and retail spaces along Washington Street have their own rhythm, with deliveries, waste pickup and inspections to work around, so our commercial service is scheduled around trading hours. Whatever the building, Hoboken Rodent Control starts with a conversation about what you have seen and heard, then a look in person.
